What makes it different
macOS already has clipboard managers and drag shelves. What none of them finish is the part Yank is built around: getting from a copy to a paste without ever reaching for the mouse.
Reachable entirely from the keyboard
The panel takes focus as it opens, typing filters the list, and ⏎ returns to your previous app and pastes. There is no reason to switch to the trackpad.
History and shelf in one place
The things you set aside for later and the thing you just copied do not live in two different apps. They share one panel at the edge of the screen.
Entirely local
No account, no cloud. Your history stays on your Mac.
Where development stands
Work is sequenced so there is always something running. Here is the state of things as of late August 2026.
Donethe macOS foundation
The window, clipboard, and paste layers now sit on native macOS APIs, with the edge panel and Spaces behavior sorted out.
Donekeyboard control
Global hotkey, incremental search, selection, type filters, pinning, and stack merge/unstack all work without the mouse.
Donehandling several items at once
Stacks of images and files can be dragged and pasted as a group, and images copied from an iPhone via Universal Clipboard are supported.
In progresspolish and testing
Refining the interface, finishing the localized strings, and testing on real hardware, alongside finalizing the brand assets.
NextMac App Store submission
Adding the in-app purchase flow (buy and restore), then submitting for review. The release date follows from that step.
Laterupdates after launch
Shortcuts support, mixed-content stacks, and syncing between devices are all on the table. What comes first depends on what people ask for.
